Q&A
  • Tanning salons in portsmouth nh? I was looking for a nice tanning salon in portsmouth that has decent prices. I was looking to get a little bit of color. I don't wanna hear about skin cancer and things like that, I know all about them I used to work at a tanning salon and I had to be certified. So I know the risks. Thanks for your help!

  • fastest and cheapest way to get to Thorpe Park from...? Portsmouth. Any taxi quotes? train prices, length of time cheers
    • Thorpe Park opens again on the 17th March, or 13th if you are an annual pass holder. I've calculated your train price for the 17th March. If you leave Portsmouth Harbour station at 8:15 you'll arrive at Staines at 10:30. Then just get on the Thorpe Park Express free bus service to take you to the park entrance. This does however mean you have one connection to make at Clapham Junction. You are allowed to take any off peak train for your return journey. £31.00 To be honest I wouldn't even look at the taxi costs. That will be a total rip-off! Is there no way you can get a lift there? it will make your day a lot less stressful, and it will reduce the journey time to 1 hour 15 minutes!
  • How can i avoid piano selling scams ? Hi, I posted my piano on the internet for sale. The buyer was willing to purchase my piano at the price of £2100. But he said that I will be receiving cheque payment of £5580, this is a payment from an earlier canceled order. Therefore I will be receiving the payment issued in my name from the debtor in the same amount. He asked me to deduct the cost of the piano which is £2100, upon receiving the payment and send the balance of £3480 to pickup agent for them to be able to offset shipping/tax charges of this transaction and other shipment they'll be doing for him. He asked me for my Full Name, Address and Phone number. I considered his request and gave him the details as he needed. After I sent that message, I found an article about internet piano buyer scam, which the e-mail article's content was exactly the same with my one. The victim's got the money withdrawn after a few days later which had been cleared from the bank. Now I received the cheque pay from P&O European Ferries (Portsmouth) Ltd by Barclays Bank PLC (London). Should I trust it and What can I do now? If I refuse to sale, would I have any problems ?
    • 100% scam. There is no buyer. There is only a scammer trying to steal your hard-earned money. The next email was from another of the scammer's fake names and free email addresses and will demand you cash a large fake check sent on a stolen UPS/FedEx billing account number and send the excess cash back to the scammer via Western Union or moneygram. Western Union and moneygram do not verify anything on the form the sender fills out, not the name, not the street address, not the country, not even the gender of the receiver, it all means absolutely nothing. The clerk will not bother to check ID and will simply hand off your cash to whomever walks in the door with the MTCN# and question/answer. Neither company will tell the sender who picked up the cash, at what store location or even in what country your money walked out the door. Neither company has any kind of refund policy, money sent is money gone forever. Now that you have responded to a scammer, you are on his 'potential sucker' list, he will try again to separate you from your cash. He will send you more emails from his other free email addresses using another of his fake names with all kinds of stories of great jobs, lottery winnings, millions in the bank and desperate, lonely, sexy singles. He will sell your email address to all his scamming buddies who will also send you dozens of fake emails all with the exact same goal, you sending them your cash via Western Union or moneygram. You could post up the email address and the emails themselves that the scammer is using, it will help make your post more googlable for other suspicious potential victims to find when looking for information. Do you know how to check the header of a received email? If not, you could google for information. Being able to read the header to determine the geographic location an email originated from will help you weed out the most obvious scams and scammers. Then delete and block that scammer. Don't bother to tell him that you know he is a scammer, it isn't worth your effort. He has one job in life, convincing victims to send him their hard-earned cash. Whenever suspicious or just plain curious, google everything, website addresses, names used, companies mentioned, phone numbers given, all email addresses, even sentences from the emails as you might be unpleasantly surprised at what you find already posted online. You can also post/ask here and every scam-warner-anti-fraud-busting site you can find before taking a chance and losing money to a scammer. The scammer might create an email address like "police @gmail" or "FBI @ hotmail" and try to convince you to cash that large check and send your cash to the scammer to avoid legal issues. Ignore and block such emails. If you google "fake check scam" you will find hundreds of posts of victims and near victims of this type of scam.
