Q&A
  • why are britains privatised railways worse than japans? people who have been indoctrinated with socialism are always blaming the sorry and expensive state of our railways on privatisation but they forget that the brilliant and celebrated railways of japan were actually privatised at the same time and for the same reasons as our railways were but they still manage to provide a good service and at a fair price which is something few railway companies in britain do.
    • Japan's railways have had far more investment than Britain's dating back to Japan's economic supremacy in the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s. Considering the long periods of zero investment in Britain's rail infrastructure courtesy of the Conservative and Labour Parties, the system is doing quite well Passengers have doubled nationally in less than 20 years and our network is one of the most frequent in the world. Japan's safety record is less good than ours and their fares not particularly cheap. There are lots of low fares available in the U.K. if you book in advance. Examples being:- London Marylebone to Birmingham £6 www.chilternrailways.co.uk London Victoria to Brighton £5 www.southernrailway.com London Paddington to Bath/Bristol £11 www.firstgreatwestern.co.uk A railcard gives you a further 34% discount www.railcard.co.uk
  • Adoption of a Kitten? Hi, before getting a kitten i need to decide which one to get. I am interested in a rag doll because, i heard it does stuff like follow you around the room, its an indoor kitten, it does tricks and it looks nice. How much are they and I live in Bristol also, please recommend cats that have similar traits as a rag doll and they are common. Also help me where to get one and how much each cat is. Thank you.
    • Hi ragdolls are cute and most pure bred ragdolls are £250 and over but if you have never seen a Bengal cat look on google images they are stunning but pet priced ones are nearly always over £300.Here is an ad for some ragdoll kittens for sale http://www.pets4homes.co.uk/classifieds/282182-purebred-ragdoll-kittens-in-somerset-street.html .And here is an ad for Bengal kittens for sale http://www.pets4homes.co.uk/classifieds/281284-beautiful-bengal-kittens-corsham.html And the ragdolls are not going to be registered and I do not think the bengals are ever. it will probably be more expensive if you get one from a good breeder but you will be getting a better quality kitten and if you go here you will see how much better quality these kittens are compared to the ones on the ad http://www.jayuzuribengals.co.uk/for-sale . I can't find a ragdoll breeder but have you seen a ragamuffin they are like ragdolls but can come in all different patterns and colours here is a breeder http://www.valleycatragamuffins.co.uk/page_2800904.html
  • average/ reasonable university accommodation cost in uk? hey I was wondering what you think is a reasonable price is accomodation or what the average accommodation cost would be for catred and self catered accommodation or just any price you think is reasonable for this piece of work im doing thank you so much <33
    • mine is £5500 a year, but that is fully catered for every meal. you don't get a choice about whether to go fully catered or not here, but i expect it would probably be about £3000-£4000 without food. it depends on where you are as to how much it will cost. bristol and london are supposed to be the most expenisive in the uk. it would cost more there.
  • What do you think of this purse? Should I get it? PICTURE HERE: http://i.imgur.com/CRzwE.jpg It is the Modalu "Pippa" bag, previously known as "Bristol" More info and pics: http://www.modalu.com/pippa-1.html I would be using it for school and work, since it's real leather I'm hoping it will last a long time. It's priced $263 CDN with tax. Please let me know what you think! Thank you. *10 Points for Best answer**
    • I agree with all the above answers. It is a really mature purse and shouldn't get it if your under 30ish. You go to school and work? Well... It would be suited for office-work. It's real leather and $263 WITH tax. I really don't think this is the right one. You could buy a cheaper one that looks much better. :]

(i know i've posted before- i just really need an answer D:)
    • national express to London then change to one for the nearest town in Suffolk where you're going to. The only way to become less clueless is to do your own research and booking, it's how we all learnt
  • X39 bus bristol bath? hi guys ... do you know the price for go and return with the bus X39 (first) ?
    • Looks like the website does not give ability to book on line, so no prices However, there is a phone number which will hopefully be of assistance. Calls to 0871 200 22 33 on BT residential lines cost 10p per minute plus 6p to connect. Mobiles, business lines and other networks may vary. I hope the call th the 087xxx number does not cost more than the x39 bus trip
  • University of efinburgh ot university of bristol? Which is better? Keeping in mind education standard, location, people, prices, etc...
    • Place the name of each school individually into your favorite search engine and add the phrase rankings and reviews. Then do a compare and contrast. If there is time the best approach is to visit each school and to speak to faculty, students and admissions.
  • Why bathroom fitters London ask for such a high price? Is it only in London? A friend o mine living in Bristol said bathroom installation charges there aren't much. So I was just wondering
    • Bathroom installation costs, but doesn’t bite :) You check out the bathroom refurbishment cost here http://www.buildingcompanylondon.com/prices.php. And just as I said, it won’t bite your purse, if you disagree then just look at the price tags of home extension
  • Hairdressers in Fishponds, Bristol? Can anyone recommend a good hairdressers in or near Fishponds in Bristol? Reasonably priced !! Thanks
    • Try Moda Hairdressing over on Gloucester Road (probably about 10 - 15 mins drive from Fishponds in traffic), my wife goes there and thinks they are excellent and that their prices are very reasonable (but then she did use to get her hair styled, coloured and cut in London!)
  • Where is the best place to get weave hair extentsions in Bristol? At a reasonable price!
    • I am wondering the same thing lols...I think it is pretty limited here to be honest. Buying the hair then go to either Stapleton Road - Georgina's or Beauty Queen Cosmetics, or Grosnver Road in St.Pauls go to Ali&Kitty.
