Q&A
  • What sort of training do I need to breed horses? When I grow up I want to breed horses to make money and I also think there aren't enough horses in the world. Do I need any sort of training to breed horses? I was thinking I'd just put a bunch of boy horses and a bunch of girl horses together and let nature take its course. Once the horses are big enough to be sold for money I'd sell the horses and then repeat the process of letting the boy horses and girl horses get jiggy together and eventually I'll be rich. Is there any sort of online or correspondence course for horse breeding that I'd need to take? I would like to have some sort of fancy diploma hanging on my wall that tells prospective buyers that I'm an expert horse breeder. Even though they're only buying a horse to shut up their whiny daughter, I want to give the impression that I know what I'm doing and that my extremely high prices are justified. Any advice and tips would be appreciated.
    • Horses will begin to fight and bight each other when competing for a mate so you will have trouble here. My advise is to only buy girl horses and buy the boy horses' spermies and inseminate the girl horses. You will save on food and care of the male horses. The down side is that you will have to push your arm up the girl horses private areas to do the AI which can be gross. I've seen a human's and had to put my hand inside those and they are bad enough so I can only imagine what a horse would be like. You can also hire a vet and if you have enough money, also a farrier to hold the tail.
  • What you should never pay half price for;) ?

  • Econs question! HELP! urgent!? Im really stuck on this question! Help! :( Light Bites, a sandwich shop, finds that when its rival, Super Snack, reduces the price of its chicken wraps from $5 to $4.60, the demand for Light Bites sandwiches falls from 400 sandwiches a week to 340 sandwiches a week. a) Calculate the cross elasticity of demand between Light Bight and Super Snack sandwiches b) Explain the relationship above in terms of cross elasticity of demand (????how are we supposed to do this?)

  • Elasticities question! Help!? Im really stuck on this question! Help! :( Light Bites, a sandwich shop, finds that when its rival, Super Snack, reduces the price of its chicken wraps from $5 to $4.60, the demand for Light Bites sandwiches falls from 400 sandwiches a week to 340 sandwiches a week. a) Calculate the cross elasticity of demand between Light Bight and Super Snack sandwiches b) Explain the relationship above in terms of cross elasticity of demand (????how are we supposed to do this?)
    • Part a: Firstly the equation for cross elasticity of demand (XED) is: XED=(%Change in quanitity for A)/(%Change in price of B) or algebraically: XED=(dQA/DPB)*(PB/QA) So from the information above we know that quantity of sandwiches falls by 60 and price falls by $0.4. We then plug this information into the formula: XED=(-60/-40)*(500/400) XED=1.5*1.25 XED=1.875 Part b: If XED is positive the two goods are substitutes. So when the price of chicken wraps falls, consumers switch to consume more of them since it is an alternative. If XED were negative the goods would be compliments. For example salt and pepper are compliments, so if the price of salt fell, the demand for pepper would increase.

    • Cross Elasticity of Demand is: (% change in quantity demanded of product A) / (% change in price of product B) (% change in quantity demanded of product A) = (400-340)/400 = 15% (% change in price of product B) = (5-4.6) / 5 = 8% A) 15%/8% = 1.875 B) Sorry, not sure about this one
