Q&A
  • Train from Madrid to Gijon? I am trying to get from Madrid to Gijon in July by train how ever I cannot seem to find any trains that are travelling on that route.
    • They are there, but the reason you have encountered problems is that you've been submitting a date in July. The train information currently doesn't go beyond the 22nd June. There are 4 or 5 trains, depending on the day of the week, between Madrid-Chamartin station and Gijon. The journey time varies from 4hrs 55mins and 5hrs 35mins and the single fare is from €15.50. http://www.renfe.com/EN/viajeros/ Once on this site you need to click on to Timetables & Prices > AVE-Long Distance > Alvia > Timetables and away you go. Good luck.
  • Compare Landyachtz longboards Bamboo pinner, andBamboo Totem? which is a better board? I'm basically a beginner. Longboarded a bit last summer, mainly just want a good board for carving and cruising.
    • Of those two boards I would go with the totem. It tends be a little better ride. I think the pinner has a little too much flex. Check out some of these boards that I think you would like Deville Interstate, Madrid D.T.F. and Bustin Sportster You can find them for a great price at socialskateboarding.com Also check out their community/forum they give discounts to members (it's free to join) and you can get good input if you ask there.
  • Any airlines that have an open jawed ticket online? For a very cheap price?
    • You can always do this. You can either book each leg as one-way, but many sites will let you book a 'multi-city' itinerary. I've gotten GREAT deals doing open-jawed tickets. I saved $1000 flying from Lima to the USA because I stayed a couple nights in Cancun along the way. I stayed a week in Cairo flying between Athens and Amman Jordan and payed the same as booking the flight all the way through to Amman with no break. (Those are not exactly open-jaw). And I when I was looking for tickets to Lisbon, it was actually a couple hundred cheaper to fly into Lisbon/out of Madrid (a true open-jaw).
  • From Where I can buy Galatasaray - Real Madrid Tickets with lowest price? I want to buy tickets to watch Galatasaray Vs. Real Madrid 2nd leg in Turkey (9/4). Where I can find the best price for the tickets, is it from Galatasaray Club? or I can find better price on internet? Thanks
    • ebay?

  • How lucky where man utd? We should have finished them off before 30mins in but we just looked tired in the 2nd half What's going on Why do you think the united team was so bad in the 2nd half? I think its cause we have been playing way to much haven't had a real break but then again chelsea didn't too maybe they are just more fit Thoughts?
    • I think the Madrid match took the toll Ryan.Chelsea rested their players in their European tie,we were exhausted. Draw is the right result reflecting on Chelsea's 2nd half surge and our dreadful response. Another factor is...Evans.He was so poor today, and should have tried to stop opener, instead giving more space.Nemanja would never let that happen. But he cant play regular games,so we were missing a very key player. Just wait for the replay. We should have killed this one though. Replay will be a tough one but we have to pay the price. Nothing to take away from Chelsea infact credit to them for fighting back. Respect.

  • What are the odds of Tokyo winning the bid for the 2020 Olympic Games? I have always wanted to visit Japan and to go to an Olympic Games. I want to know as soon as possible to start saving money for airfare, hotels, food, etc.
    • You'd better save a lot. A whole serious lot. Tokyo is very expensive under the best of circumstances, especially hotels. Food can be reasonably priced if you're willing to get off the beaten path. The JR commuter rail service is outstanding but fairly pricey. Still, it's cheaper than getting around by taxi. If you plan to travel in Japan as long as you're there, look into buying a JR pass before leaving your country. They're MUCH cheaper abroad than in Japan. I was in Tokyo for a few days in November/December of 2012, and it was very expensive then. Count on rates being jacked up another 50% for the Olympics. As for your question, I think it's Tokyo's to lose. Spain has long-term debt problems with the EU, so they'll be hard-pressed to come up with the tens of billions needed for Madrid to host the Olympics. Nothing against Istanbul, but given the infrastructure problems they're having in Rio, the last thing the International Olympic Committee is a second straight Summer host requiring lots of construction.
