Is The Barcelona Brio Series Cutaway Acoustic Guitar Any Good? I have been looking for a good beginner guitar for me to learn how to play with. Everyone says "go big or go home" when price is brought up. I found this: http://www.austinbazaar.com/Barcelona-Brio-Series-Cutaway-Acoustic-Guitar-Pack-p/bar-brymg-sb-combo.htm?utm_source=GoogleBase&utm_medium=CSE&CAWELAID=1783813986&utm_campaign=BAR-BRYMG-SB-COMBO ..and I love the sunburst and cutaway style. Only problem is, I have not been able to find any reviews on this brand of acoustic guitar. Thoughts? Suggestions? Is it any good?
Impossible to say from the images, description and price point if this will play and sound OK, or be a complete dud. The point is really that you should visit a dealer and try out guitars in person. There are so many factors which is far more important than looks: How does the neck feels, how the body feels when you play the guitar? Is the guitar properly set up (adjusted)? How does it sound? Is the guitar easy to tune up (any rough spots snagging the strings and does the tuners work properly)? Any rough spots from the fret edges (frets sticking out along the edge of the fingerboard)? Do the frets look even and smooth? Does the guitar play in tune up the neck - in other words, is it intonated properly? Does the neck truss rod work properly? These two last points is vitally important. It is not so that you may need to shell out a lot of money for a decent playing and sounding beginner guitar. However, you should avoid buying your first guitar online based on appearance.
