That's a difficult one as the pros definitely outweigh the cons and it depends if you are going on holiday or deciding to buy a holiday home. Pros: So many historic cities to visit: Seville, Granada, Cordoba, Jerez, Tariffa, Malaga old town, Ubeda, Cadiz, Frigliana. The list is endless. Sunshine for most of the year. Excellent food. Prices still good even with a more expensive Euro. The people are very welcoming, especially if you try to speak their language. A wonderful culture to explore: Flamenco, music, architecture, history. The new extension to the airport is great. Transport links are superb with the new High Speed Trains (AVE) Motorways have been upgraded and can effortlessly take you all the way from Malaga to Barcelona. Cons: The main beaches aren't the best in the Med. and often look grey. But there are 'secret' beaches, far from the maddening crowd which are good. The main coastal area has too many British visiters who only want cheap booze and go lobster red and an 'England with sunshine' and aren't interested in the culture. Marbella and Puerto Banus is full of wannabees...but if that is what attracts you then you'll love it.
