Q&A
  • traveling from rome to reggio di calaberia? i want to travel to reggio de calaberia ( in south of italy) but my flight is to rome and i want to go from rome to there by bus. do you know is there any bus for there? where is bus station in rome and how can i get there from airport? do you know the cheapest way to get reggio de calabera?
    • If you don't fly there from Rome, the best option is to take the train. You can check specific schedules and prices here: http://www.ferroviedellostato.it/homepage_en.html . Most of the train options will take 6 to 7 and a half hours. There is one direct fast train in 5 hr 14 min. If you arrive at Fiumicino airport in Rome, you can take the Leonardo Express train from the airport to Roma Termini station for 11 euro and catch the train south from there. If you arrive at Ciampino, then you can take the bus from the airport to Roma Termini or catch a shuttle from the airport to the Ciampino train station and take the train to Roma Termini. There are no budget airlines flying into Reggio di Calabria from Rome. If you were flying into Milan Orio al Serio airport or Verona, you could take MyAir from there.
  • From Rome to Reggio de calaberia? I will Arrive Fiumicino air port of rome but i want to go to reggio de calaberia by bus or train. does anyone know how i can get there? do you know how much are the prices of bus or train and where is the bus station or train station? and how i can get there?
    • Hi, you can go by train. Look here (it´s an example): http://orario.trenitalia.com/b2c/nppPriceTravelSolutions.do?stazin=Rome&stazout=Reggio+Di+Calabria+(+T.+Stazioni+)&datag=12&datam=06&dataa=2009&timsh=19&timsm=00&car=0&stazin_r=Staz_DA&stazout_r=Staz_A&datag_r=01&datam_r=01&dataa_r=2009&timsh_r=01&timsm_r=00&trencounter=0&nreq=5&solotreno=0&npag=1&sort=0&trencounter_r=0&nreq_r=5&solotreno_r=0&npag_r=1&sort_r=0?=en&channel=tcom Choose your date personally on http://www.trenitalia.com (you can change the language). The price is about 35 - 65 euros (economic class is cheaper). By train it takes 7-9 hours.

    • I think you should go by bus (Cotral) or by train (Leonardo Express) from the airport to Rome main station (Stazione Termini or also called Roma Termini) and then go down to Reggio di Calabria by train (preferable fast train, with extra fee). Going by train is not expensive in Italy. You usually buy the ticket at a counter in the station and get the next train. The bus ticket is available directly on the bus. For the prices and more information see the links below. Have a nice trip! I lived and worked in Rome.

ask "aperitivo della casa" and enjoy yourself
