Q&A
  • What is good castle to stay in for one night while visiting Ireland? I will be going on a 5 night trip to Ireland next month. 2-3 nights will be in Dublin, leaving 2-3 nights to other parts of Ireland. We'll be in a different city each day while not in Dublin. Ideally I would love to book something through hotels dot com for about $200 per night where I can get a free night stay. Something close to this price in a big historical stone castle would be excellent! Something like the castles we see in movies from the middle ages. Also proximity to tourist attractions and towns for dinner or drinks would be ideal. Thanks for any help!
    • Adare Manor in county Limerick its beautiful and has rooms for 160 per night its in adare village , which has a beautful desmond castle as the village itself has a lot to see and is very touristy , and its in easy reach from the cliffs of moher ,Limerick city , Galway and Kerry are easily over an hour's drive infact its in a very good position because its also on the west coast and there are at least 2 cities over an hours drive away as well as some of the countrys best scenary ..
  • Suggestions for a Student Magazine? We are going to start a magazine this month. I want some ideas for it which will help us to make it look a bit different from other magazines. Right now there are 2 quality magazines popular in our city which almost provide everything. Following things are included in those 2 magazines • Students Exclusive/Career Counselling • Exclusive Interviews of Successful Students • News (National-International, Sports etc.) • Monthly updated Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) • Science & Tech • Hawkeye • Health ' n' Glamour • Poetry • Book Reviews • Literature • History • Horoscopes • Movies • Puzzles • Jokes • Latest Innovations • Business Gadgets Offcourse we'll add some of those as well in our magazine but we want to add some more sections in it. And for that purpose we need some creative suggestions. Also leave suggestions regarding Magazine name, so far i could think of title "The Student" still there is room for some consideration for other names. :) ~Summing up Questions Q1: Ideas for more sections in Magazine Q2: Magazine Title/Name Thanks a ton for your time :)
    • Hey(: I'm the editor-in-chief of our annual 400 page school magazine so I can give you several ideas for your magazine! Firstly, it would've been better if you had mentioned the number of pages of your magazine because it determines how many ideas/columns are actually needed and how many are actually good enough to be included (because you only add the best if the number of pages is less). I'll list some of the ideas and you may select accordingly: 1) News is a must. Maybe make it interesting by making it sorta review? For example: Suppose your name is Amanda. Then the title can be something like ''Amanda in Wonderland'' wherein you can describe your experiences of the event you went to and make it funny so that it's not monotonous. So that way, it also counts as news but is a lot more interesting and engaging to read. 2) Jokes/Riddles/Poems/Limericks/Crosswords. 3) Interviews. They are really important elements of a magazine. Have you read glamour magazines? Try to make the interviews that way. And why interview successful students only? Interview the teachers or even the principal (if she's kind enough). 4) How about a gossip column? Circulating rumours, new couples in the school. Stuff like that? 5) This idea's really gonna please the guys out there in your school. Sports column. Reviews of matches be it soccer, tennis, cricket. Anything that's popular. Mock the sportspersons who fail, praise those who shine. Give in some statistics like leader board of a series so that the readers remain hooked to check the leader board of their favourite sports series everyday. 6) Gadgets. Technology. Tell the readers about the new gizmos in market. Their reviews, their pictures, their features, their prices. Just every information you can find about them. 7) This is something the girls will love. Fashion! The latest trends, fashion statements, fashion disasters (of celebs), what's in, what's not, latest trends in the school. All about fashion. 8) Events. The upcoming events, what to expect from them, what they're about, what's gonna happen, timings, just everything. Make them as interesting as you can (you can also write someone's birthday party in the events section). 9) Lesson of the week/month/day (depends on your whether your magazine will be published every day, once a week or monthly). Therein, you have to be extremely philosophical and it has to be something like an eye opener for the people. Like an article against bullying? Child abuse? Compassion? Love? Trust? Faith? There are numerous options. 10) And lastly, make an awards section as well (looks good only if the magazine is a weekly/monthly one). Awards like Comedian of the week/month. Best dressed. Best.......numerous options. You can actually do a lot with it. And people will be very excited to read this column as who doesn't want a title in the magazine? I have an idea for the name of the magazine. As per your question, you already have 2 rival magazines. So you obviously need an amazing eye catching name to get it through. Yes, don't judge a book by it's cover but it still matters a lot. People always pick up magazines with cool sounding names. 'The Student' sounds really typical. So I think you should go with something more unique like «L'Etudiant» (which means the student in french). Think about it! Hope I helped(:
  • lsd in limerick city centre? asap? do you know of anywhere in limerick city centre where i could score some acid??? please answer quickly!! also, how should i approach the dealer, how do i not get ripped off?? i read on here that someone said after they took acid their brain stopped developing. will acid stop my brain from developing or **** it up completely?? am i really too young to take it?? its a choice between acid or vodka! im 16 soon to be 17. well is there any other site more suited to questions of thsi nature? no funny answers please.
    • If you act natrual and know the prices of your area and amounts then your less likely to get ripped off. Have a friend come with you ideally someone familiar with how these things work I hate to break it to you though but you can't just find acid without any connections. Unless someone you know knows of a source your out of luck. If your a teenage girl who doesn't know about this stuff then trying to buy drugs from strangers is only asking for trouble. In addition to that acid and alcohal are completly different things. Acid is not going to have a lasting effect on your brain but you can have a bad trip when you take it. If done responsibly and in healthy mind set then it can be very enjoyable but if not taken seriously it can be a really traumatizing experience. Acid is extremly powerful and you should really consider this before you try it. If your responsible about it and most importantly if you can get it from someone you know and trust then it can be a really eye opening experience. But i strongly advise against it if you plan on going alone to a dealer you don't know. Hope some of that helps
  • Is it safe to vacation in Ireland? I've always wanted to go to Ireland is it safe to go. I would also like to stay in the country side is that safe. What is the best time of the year to go. Do I have to change currency. I have dreamed all my life of going I just need to know if it's safe to go. I would like to go to Dublin. Can anyone please give me links to sites that talk about tourist destinations.
    • Its as safe as any other developed country, use your common sense, dont walk around alone at night, dont accept rides from anyone but an authorised taxi service. We use Euros here, May or September are the best times to visit, we tend to get the driest weather then, temperatures in the 60s F. Dublin BTW is a city, not countryside, and the nicest parts of Irish countryside are along the west coast, you would be better advised to fly to Shannon and stay in Galway or Limerick. Unless you use a coach tour, you will need to hire a car to get around. Ireland is NOT a cheap destination, the cost of living is higher here than in the US, and fuel (gas) about 3 times the price. http://www.discoverireland.ie/
  • I have a brand new heater with fan for sale, Where do l sell it in Limerick, ROI? It is a small heater used to heat up your room in a very short time as it has a built-in fan. The consumption is reasonable low. I still got the receipt, original box and instructions for use. I only bought it a week and a half ago and have barely used it. I am moving house to where I won't be needing it. I am giving it for just 10 euro, half the original price.

  • Getting from Limerick to Heuston? Looking to go from Limerick station to Heuston. wanting to leave early in the morning and return late evening Around 8 am and leaving at like 8 or 9 pm on a thursday .. any one know what type of price im looking at. don't mind if i go by bus or train. also once i get to hueston anyone know the best way to dundrum shopping center by public transport.. thanks :) oh also we are 16 and might try to get under 16 ticket because thats cheeper :)
    • Try www.irishrail.ie for info on the trains. To get to Dundrum, you need to get down into the city centre first, and you can take the Luas to O'Connell Street and cross the Liffey and walk on to Grafton Street, and the other Luas is at the far end of Grafton Street at St Stephen's Green, and you can take that to Dundrum shopping centre, I think you get out at the Balally stop.
  • Average values of a decent small apartment(around 50-60 m2) in Dublin(not in an expensive area)? I would like to buy one apartment in Dublin, is it true the prices have been decreased 60% since 2009?How much lower are the prices in smaller cities, like Cork or Limerick?
    • The prices there are still nearly 12%-17% below 2008 values, there has been very little recovery at all. This makes values 47% below the peak of 2006/2007. Cork and Limerick prices are similar with the latter slightly cheaper.
  • buying shirataki noodles online? anyone know where i can get them online at a good price!?! and has to accept paypal! or if you have used the site before it would be a plus! im very dodge about some websites! i live in ireland down in limerick if anyone knows any shop there i can get it that will be the bestest but i doubt there is anywhere to be honest!!!
    • The biggest problem you'll run into is shipping prices. AsianFoodGrocer.com offers the best price on Shirataki Noodles and uses Paypal, but because the product is so dense USPS will take a large chunk of your budget. I would also recommend buying through Amazon.com, they are definitely a trusted site.
  • anybody know the prices for dolans in limerick ireland? im looking at having a gig in dolans warehouse in limerick and renting out the upstairs venue for a night! anybody no how much that would cost? Please help its urgent!
    • If it's so urgent, pick up the phone and call them. That's the fastest and surest way to find out. The Warehouse is the concert room at the back. The upstairs venue where they usually have the smaller gigs and occasional private parties is just the upstairs room of Dolan's pub.
  • where can i buy an ipad in limerick at a reasonable price? thanks for all answers
    • You could get a replica iPad which is called the aPad. It's very similar to the iPad and works the same way. I got mine at replicapad.com and ships within a week. I'm very happy with my aPad ;)
