  • Advance Database management class? Database Project You are the Senior Consultant at Abacus Consulting, tasked with the database project for Amadeus Real Estate client. The company employs real estate agents who work with customers to buy and sell properties (both residential and commercial). As part of your lead role, you are responsible for meeting with the client team and gathering requirements. You are then scheduled to design the data model and implement a working prototype to demonstrate the validity of the data model. Your specific tasks are broken down as below Phase 1 – Requirements Gathering As part of the requirements phase, develop a minimum of 10 business rules that apply to the client’s business. Phase 2 – Database Design Develop a database model based on the requirements. Use the Crow’s Foot notation, indicate all attributes, primary/foreign key relationships, cardinalities and relationship strengths. Phase 3 – Implementation Implement the table structure designed for the system. Assume property details (type, area, list price, sale price …etc). Assume 3% commission on all transactions. 1.Write the SQL code to create the needed tables. Ensure all primary keys, foreign keys and constraints are defined. 2.After implementing the table structures, insert dummy data for 10 transactions, placed between January-1-2012 to February-1-2012. Phase 4 – Validation To validate the data model you have developed, you are asked to write some queries and verify the results with expected results. Write the SQL statements that provide the following information: •Total of all sales for the period Jan-2-2012 to Jan-15-2012 •Agent who sold the most number of properties between Jan-2-2012 to Jan-15-2012. •Agent who sold the most $$ value of properties between Jan-5-2012 to Feb-1-2012. •Most expensive property sold between Jan-1-2012 to Feb-1-2012. Submission Instructions Statements for all phases and the ERD must be submitted as a single zip file. The SQL file must be in plain text format (.filename with .sql extension). The SQL file must be called Lastname_Project.sql. The ERD diagram must be uploaded into BB or turned in during class.

  • Problem with my Packard Bell pc. Won't turn on. PLEASE HELP? Hi there. I accidentally unplugged my computer when it was working. Now it won't start. It says " WEindows could not start because the following programme is missing or corrupt : \windows\system32\config\system You can attempt to repair this file by starting Windows Setup using the original CD-ROM Select "r" at the first screen to start repair. Unfortunately I don't have the CD-ROM. I desperately need my pc , please HELP.....
    • Usually you press one of the F keys during boot to get the boot options and there is often an option for system restore in there. Can also try booting into safe mode (F8 at windows start up) or last known good config. Easiest way is with a bootable windows CD though - you may be able to borrow one of a mate or download an image. You need to get the exact same windows version (XP Profesional, Vista home basic, etc...) Packard Bell may be able to post you one out as well, dunno if they would charge or not and may take a while to come. A local PC shop should be able to fix it easy enough and can probably give you a price over the phone. Alternatively, ERD Commander CD or Hirems boot disk should be able to sort the problem Good Luck
  • Fast food erd. Please help!!? I'm making a fast food erd. Can someone help me please, I'm still a noob. My erd should focus in order and inventory. This are my tables: supplier = supplier id, name, email, address, phone invoice = prod name, prod quantity, prod price, order date, date shipped branch = branch id, address inventory(form what i understand, this are the stocks) = inventory num, inventory total, inventory supplier due product category = product category id, value meals, value meal type point of sales(I'm not sure what fields should i add. From what I understand, this is where transactions happen. I think it's where the cashiers are inputting data every time customers buy) What I'm only sure of is that Supplier supplies many Branch and Branch has many Supplier. Supplier issues Invoice to Branch. The rest, I'm confused. I don't know where to connect the inventory, product category and point of sales. Should I add more tables? Please help me, answers will be deeply appreciated.
    • You are heading the wrong direction, too many tables I think, as some are really just one if designed correctly and the idea of a relational database to avoid repeative information. Not really sure where you are heading with BRANCH and INVENTORY and POS, you need to sit down and work out clearly what info you need and then decide on what table will hold such then define the keys corectly.
  • can anyone help me complete an Entity Relationship Diagram for my computer class? Search for customers by last name or phone number When entering new customers, enter a zip code and the database will find the city and state Keep track of which movies their customers rented, on what dates, and how much they spent on each date and in total Be able to send letters to their customers, addressing them by first name Search for movies by movie name or type of movie Search for movies that have a certain actor (note that some movies will have more than one actor worth searching on) Note: You are NOT expected to demonstrate all of these features; simply make sure your database is designed so that these features would be possible. Some things you might need to know are: Movies rent for $3-$5 each The possible types of movies are “Comedy”, “Drama”, “Family”, “Horror”, “SciFi”, and “Romance” Business Rules: A customer may rent many movies at one time or none at all. A movie can be rented by none or many customer at one time. An actor can be in none or many movies. A movie can have more than one actor but has to have at least one. A movie can only have one genre. YOUR ASSIGNMENT: Develop an entity relationship diagram (ERD) oIdentify all entities oIdentify all primary keys oIdentify all foreign keys Use normalization to assure the correctness of the tables (Create an intersection Relation) Create the Final Structure, including all fields needed for each table. Create the database using Access oCreate the appropriate table relationships, enforcing Referential Integrity oAdd records (feel free to be creative), including at least: 5 different customers 10 different videos •Specify a variety of prices and movie types 15 rental transactions •At least 5 of them should include more than one movie •Every customer has at least 2 transactions •Specify a variety of movies and customers
    • Can I help you with it? Yes. Will I do it for you? No. If you have a specific question, or you're stuck on some particular part of the assignment, let me know what it is, and I'll try to help. But I'm not going to do your homework for you just because you're too lazy to do it yourself.
  • Database Question! Help.? Cinema Problem: You are to assume the role of a database analyst that has been assigned to develop an entity-relationship diagram (ERD) for a cinema chain. The following information has been obtained for use in constructing the ERD: Warner and his brothers operate a cinema chain (Warner and Brothers Movies). He wants to build a database to use for forecasting demand for both the movies he shows and the food he sells as well as to track other critical information for his business. He tells you he has several cinemas and each cinema has between 1 and 15 theaters. Each cinema has a location, a unique name and a phone number. The theaters vary in terms of seating style, type of sound equipment and seating capacity. Movies are shown throughout the day starting at 11 am and finishing at 1 am. Some movies will the shown in multiple theaters and over time may switch theatres that they show in. For instance, Star Wars may originally be shown in the 3 largest theatres in a cinema but after 3 months it may be showing in just one of the smaller theaters. Of course, each theater is also used for a variety of movies over time. Warner is interested in knowing how many people, classified by adults and children, attend each showing of a movie. A showing would be a specific run of a specific movie, for instance, Mission Impossible II at 11 am on Saturday Oct 28th in theater 3 at WB Cinemas. To estimate approximate ticket sales each showing is given a price code that describes the cost of children and adult tickets. For instance, morning weekend prices are $10for adults and $7.50 for children. Besides the name of each movie, the length of the movie, the type of recording (Dolby surround sound, Dolby DTS, subtitles, etc.), and the rating of the movie are recorded in the database. Warner also wants to record any awards the movie has won (e.g. Oscar for best picture, 2008, etc.) Each cinema has a manager and several other employees. Most employees are trained by another employee when they are hired. Warner needs to know the name, address, Social Security Number and phone number for all of his employees. He also wants to be certain he knows who is the manager of what cinema, who trained each employee, and at which cinema each employee works. No employee works at more than one cinema and some employees do not work at a cinema at all (i.e. the IS department). All cinemas have one and only one manager. In order to track food receipts Warner has the manager at each cinema enter in the total receipts each cinema makes for beverages, popcorn and candy at the end of every day (their cash registers are not automated or linked to the database yet).
    • You've got to be kidding.
  • Can I get cash back at closing still? I am looking at buying a house with an SEV around 73k. The asking price is 115k and I need 10k for repairs. It is a private sale with no brokers and is a RD loan from the USDA. Is it possible to get that 10k back at closing legally?
    • You can do it. One of the RD papers you will sign says that you promise that there are no "secret" deals between you and the seller. If there are no secret deals, you can have money back. Which means that you told the USDA in writing that you are getting the money. In writing. They may want you to fix this place up. It makes their loan more secure.
