why is baja motorsports so misunderstood? why is baja motorsports so misunderstood? one of the only problems i have encountered, was canadian tire giving bad service, and not oiling and checking the bike, because baja has to ship them dry. I own a 125 dirt runner, and after some maintenance, it runs incredibly good.
    • A poor regard to metallurgy through out the bikes, substandard tubing in the frames and bad welding of joints. I've seen too many frames with cracks in the tubes next to bad welding joints. In the motors you will find poor finishing; casting swarf not removed. soft alloys used in things like a piston, soft alloy is cheap alloy. There is a lack of quality control inherent in China, they won't pay extra wages to employ someone to check a product. Anything Chinese is cheap against the same type of product produced in another country --- ask yourself why? They pay the same price for raw materials on the world market, so that isn't the answer. Child labor, using poor grades of materials, unskilled labor in crucial areas of manufacturing and a lack of knowledge of what we, the buyer, really expect from what we buy and use the bike for. Ask yourself how can your bike made in China be so much cheaper than the bike it is copied from made in Japan. Sure they look reasonable on the showroom floor but it ends there. It won't take long till it shows problems then you are stuck unable to sell the bike because of its justifiable reputation.....

Please Let Me Known When This Bike Is Coming Which Month And When The Booking Will Start And What Will Be The Price Of This Bike With ABS And Without ABS And Which All Colors Are Available In India.
    • not this year....but even if it comes this year it will be a fail coz bajaj is launching there pulsar 350 this year...so ninja 300 wont have a chance against baja j
  • what my boat is worth? I have a 1993 baha 28'6"weekender it has twin 350 volvo engines it has a cutty with 2 burner elect. stove microwave refrig. and sink. the bathroom has a elect.flush toilet bath sink and shower the engines have 2300hrs.on them.
    • this is a good starting point for valuing your boat: http://www.nadaguides.com/Boats/1993/Baja-Boats You should also check out pricing for similar boats at: http://www.boattrader.com/ and: http://www.boatboss.com/
  • yahama fz-s and bajaj avenger as per look ,price and mileage? as i'm little bit tall aprox.174cm i wanna buy a bike and my daily route is about 30-50km which bike is best for me yahama fz-s or baja avenger.
    • i would go with the avenger, they are better on gas, i think
  • What is the price range for a 1965 Volkswagen baja? So I'm trying to get this sucka sold. It is not the primary vehicle in the house so its in pretty good condition. It has a Weber carberator and a new motor but we are unsure of the miles on the car, I don't think its a lot though.
    • Well, lots of factors play into this. Is is a full baja conversion, with cut fenders and raised suspension? How is the interior? If its very nice condition, I'd go with $3,000- $4,000 USD. If its rough, cut that in half.
  • New Baja or old Honda dirt bike? I'm looking to get a dirt bike and my friends uncle has an old Honda that he might sell or I could get a new Baja for around the same price I believe. I was looking at the Baja Dirt Runner 90, the Baja Dirt Runner 125, or the Baja Warrior 90. And I believe the dirt bike my friends uncle had I believe was a Honda XL500S I think it was a 1980. Which would be better for a beginning rider? Which one is a better bike? Which one is safer? And any other help you might have would be great. Thank you!
    • The honda xl500s is to much power for a beginner. The bajas aren't good quality they break down often just find a different dirt bike on craigslist or eBay.
  • What's a car that stands out like a Baja buggy that's good in snow? I was thinking about selling my '93 chevy cavalier (astonishingly bluebooked for $2200) and putting that together with some savings to get a more stand out car. I'm not looking to race or anything, just for a reliable car that looks a little better. I saw some Baja buggies on craigs list for around $2000-2500 that would just be awsome. The problem is I live in Colorado right next to the Rockies so my mom's worried about how it would drive in the snow. So are there any cars around the same price that have a similar feel and would drive wiee in snow?
    • vw bugs or baja bugs do great in the snow! rear engine rear wheel drive. all the weight is on the drive axle. ive owned several bugs and they will go anywhere! they dont have anti lock brakes but ive never had any problems expecily if it has disc brakes in the front. you just cant drive a bug 80mph in the ice or any car i think. i live in the moutains in new mexico and we usually get lots of snow i just keep snow chains in my bug for the really bad ice, ive gotten out when 4x4 trucks cant.
  • Nitro gas rc cars, what company is best? I am going to get a nitro rc car, and have looked on some sites, but there are tons of them. I want a good quality one that is good for a beginner and comes ready to run. It needs to be durable and easy to handle, or repair. I am willing to go with a more expensive one, but would rather get a fairly cheap priced one (like $100-$300) NOT on-road, must be off-road truggy, buggy, truck, baja, or short-course. Nedds to come with starter kit and radio control.
    • Get a VXL Rustler from Traxxas. It's about $350 or less (spend the extra money for it), and they are awsome RC trucks for beginners and experts as well. They come ready to run. The VXL Rustler is electric, but WAY faster than the Nitro Rustler, and just about any other RTR Nitro car on the market. If you want a nitro car then go for it. They are a lot of fun, but you'll be buying expensive fuel for it (20 dollars per gallon), it will constantly need tuning to run right, you go through glow plugs, things start leaking, and it gets messy. Not to mention they are loud and may piss off the neighboors. If you buy an electric car, you simply plug the battery in and go, and you can run it without annoying the neighboors anytime. Just to give you an idea, I have a VXL Rustler. Right out of the box it's crazy fast. With mods, they are scary fast. Mine has a LIPO battery and different gears, and it does 70+ mph. It's so powerful that when you're going about 45-50 mph and you gun it, the car wheelies and flips itself over. Go to traxxas.com and check em out, you'll have fun with either one.
  • Subaru Baja Subs and Speakers? i have just bought a brand knew Subaru Baja and the speakers SUCK!!! I want to get nice great base subs and knew speakers but i don't have any idea where to put them or were to get them. I also want to get some cheap under body lights (the price) for Anchorage Alaska. Thank you :).
    • Subaru makes a single sub that fits under the passenger seat. I have one on my Baja and it works very well. It isn't the greatest, but you get very good bass through it. You can buy upgraded speakers through Crutchfield. Select the section that says "what fits my car" and it will guide you through the process. Plus, if you buy a new head unit from them, they send you complete illustrated install instructions specific to your car (free) and a free wiring harness that matches up everything so that you do not do any cutting. The sub you can buy on ebay or pay double the price at a Subaru dealer. There is no good place to put subs unless you go with a hard bed cover and put them in the back section.

Should the U.S. buy the Baja Peninsula? First, there is already historical precedent for the US expanding it's territory through purchases for economic reasons. See Gadsden Purchase, The Alaska Purchase, and the Louisiana Purchase. So buying land isn't something new to the US. Second, there are several reasons, mainly economic and security why it would be beneficial for the US to extend it's Southern borders. 1 is it would give the US greater control over the Pacific and the trade lanes therein. The Pacific is arguably the most valuable shipping route in the world today. 2 it might be possible to negotiate extending the Southern borders of Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas as well, which currently is mostly unpopulated, undeveloped desert. This could give the US more control over the border villages that are currently being ransacked by drug smugglers and allow a greater buffer zone between the border and the more populated areas of the US. Having less territory to cover wold also relieve a huge burden off the Mexican defense forces. Third, the Norther half of Baja provides about $23 million dollars a year to the Mexican economy. The Southern half provides almost no revenue as it is largely undeveloped. Given Mexico's strict and difficult to manage property rights, the untapped potential in terms of tourism dollars could be much more easily realized under US laws. Fourth, the new state of Baja would send 2 new senators and approximately 5 new representatives to the Congress in Washington, D.C.. These people would more than likely be Hispanic and provide a much greater voice in the government for America's largest growing minority group and possibly provide some significant new insight and opportunity. Fifth, Mexico could probably use the money. It's estimated now that Mexico owes the US about $20 billion dollars in debt. Sixth, this would create about 4 million new US citizens that all pay their taxes! Unemployment would not be of any greater issue as it is anywhere else, because of all the new tourist resorts that would open up along Baja's magnificent beaches and mountains. So, if I were President and the US economy was in better shape (say 2006 levels) here's what I would do: -Offer a purchasing price of $250 million dollars for the Baja peninsula and some of Mexico's Northern most territories. This prices is about as much as Mexico would earn from that territory in 8-10 years. But they'd get it all, right up front. -To entice the deal, offer to forgive all Mexican debt to the US. Remember that's $20 billion, basically we'd pay off their credit card. We could go even further and offer to wipe out Mexican debt to Canada and Brazil as well. -If they went along with it, I'd also offer to enter into a mutual defense agreement together, as Mexico is one of the few places in the Western hemisphere the US doesn't have a defense agreement with. -And finally, I'd offer to sign a huge free trade agreement between us two. In hopes of convincing more American companies to set up manufacturing plant in Mexico, instead of China. As well as attempting to build up the Mexican economy more to disincentivize financially motivated illegal immigration. So, what do you think? Do I have your vote on this?
