Q&A
  • Good first car at a reasonable price? Hi, I have about $3500 - $4000 to spend on my first car. I would like something with decent gas mileage and good safety ratings. Something dependable that will last me a while. The problem is finding cars at a reasonable price for the mileage, etc. What are some cars I should look at? And more importantly, what should i avoid? I've been looking for cars like toyota corolla, toyota echo, etc. but no such luck yet. P.S. I'm 17.
    • If you look on craigslist you can definitely find a car that is worth it. That will be cheaper than going to a used car dealership. As far as what type of car, that really depends on what you like. I've always heard Toyota Camrys are nice reliable cars, and you can find those for your price range I'm sure. It's tough to say what you should avoid. Just don't buy a car you don't know much about. The best thing you can do is bring someone who knows cars or even better a mechanic to take a look at it when you go. My best advice is don't rush into anything. I had problems with my old car and had to buy a different used one unexpectedly. Everyday I checked craigslist and found a nice 2000 Grand Prix for only $2500.
  • Should I buy the Iphone 5,or wait for ps4 to come out? HELLO PEOPLE I NEED HELP! The ps4 is coming out in november...The Iphone 5 is already out.I have a phone but it's old.I also have a ps2 (which is pretty boring actually). My parents are planning to buy me something for my bd.I told my father that I want to wait for ps4 to come out and then get it.But now I'm seeing the Iphone 5 and it's cool. What should I do? Should I buy the Iphone 5?(I always wanted a nice phone)And if yes then what color? Is it worth the money?(It's kinda expensive) Or should I wait for ps4 to come out?Although I do not know the price. Is it going to be expensive? PWEASE HELP I CANT CHOOSE!!!!
    • Definitely wait for the PlayStation 4!! Think about the games thats coming out on PS4, like Killzone Shadow fall, Infamous second son and all the other features that the PS4 will have.
  • looking for a good quality dog bed? My dog is a 62 lb black lab and I am looking for a new bed for him, because his current one is getting kind of worn out. However, I would like to buy him a bed where it is nice and comfy but I can also remove the cover on it so if and when he gets fleas and other misc objects on him I can easily wash it. Are there any good dog beds that you have had success with?
    • The orthopedic bed from petedge.com is a good price and the cover removes. More expensive but durable beds you can look at orvis or plow and hearth. I decided just to buy memory foam and wrap a blanket around it for a dog bed.
  • I feel bad for lil nini anybody else it is messed up? This is just a story mainly but dont u feel sorry. Like she came for a concert at my school with j xavier. But like her songs.... :/ but when she said put your hands up. Somebody yelled NO WE DONT WANNA PUT OUR HANDS UP. It was pretty messed up and some people laughed. And only like 3-5 people put their hands up some were for jokes the other bc some people wanna be nice. But when j xavier came out we were all screaming putting our hands up and everything. Idk what happened. Then like she wasnt there but her crew was watching and they looked pissed. And all mad. Then when we went in lines to buy stuff. Hardly people were in lil ninis' line because supposedly she was bad and the prices were higher. And alot of people went to j xavier and he was so nice and gave hugs. And his stuff was cheaper better and stuff. And dont be mean bc i didnt do this stuff i saw it. :(
    • Probably because nobody knew who that is like me
  • What is a good DVD ripping program? I have been using the free version of "RipIt" occasionally but it only has like 2 more dvds left until it won't let me use it without paying. All other free programs I have seen contain a watermark and I can't have those.. I am not against paying for a program but if I do I want to make sure it is the best one out there for the price! (and like $30 max..) A program that also can compress is nice too, although I have been ripping full versions. I have a macbook pro with os x.
    • Hi, I answered your question earlier. Did you not see my re-edit of it? http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AiU7OdlJfH7RxmZ4FPnGinjsy6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20120601132730AAlt3Gg (Your other question.) I re-edited it because I did find dvdfab's free version for mac which I didn't know they had. http://www.dvdfab.com/hd-decrypter-for-mac.htm (Dvdfab dvd decrypter free for mac.) Here is dvdfab's description from their site, DVDFab HD Decrypter for Mac is a simple version of DVDFab DVD Copy for Mac and DVDFab Blu-ray Copy for Mac which can remove all the DVD protections, part of Blu-ray protections, and copy the DVD/Blu-ray onto your Mac It is one of the always free portions of DVDFab applications. With its various settings and options to edit, you will definitely get a fantastic output. In addition, the copying speed is very fast and the quality is wonderful. Sorry for all the confusion, im not used to looking for mac software. I hope this helps you out. Good luck!
  • Good electric guitar 350-500$ price range? I'm looking for a good electric guitar preferably 350-500$ but I can go a little higher. I already have a seagull acoustic cw qit (which i completely recommend by the way its a nice guitar) but my electric guitar I have had since I started playing guitar so its really not up to par. So I am look for a nice electric guitar that can play a pretty wide range of music from blues and classic rock to more of heavy tones and metal. I really like the look on sunburst finish guitars too! so if you guys have any recommendations that would be nice! thanks!
    • Try a Fender Telecaster or Stratocaster. They're both pretty versatile and should be in your price range (Mexican or Japanese, probably not USA). Also, thanks for that tidbit about the Seagull acoustic. I've been looking at them for a while and I think I'm going to get one soon as I've heard nothing but good things about them--especially for the price. I think they sound great.
  • Why does Philadelphia suck so bad? For the past five years I have lived in Philadelphia both the suburbs as well as inner city. On top of living in Philly I have also lived in Detroit, Los Angeles, Chicago, and spent several summers in NYC. The crossroad I am facing is...what is the excuse Philly has to be such a hole in the wall? When I first visited this city I was extremely impressed with the food, nightlife, culture, accessibility, and weather however soon found out after moving here it's not so glamorous. For starters northeast, north, west, southwest, and south Philly is a complete and total dump with constant traffic, run down neighborhoods, unwalkable streets, dirty, and insane housing prices. To take matters further the crime rate is out of control and the people are completely rude and ignorant. Even in a professional capacity coworkers and bosses half ass all work, follow through is non existant, courtesy is unheard of, and if you attempt to make eye contact the locals get uncomfortable like you are sitting in front of them naked. Phrases like "please, thank you, and my pleasure" don't exist here and the constant complaining of job security is a total shocker to me. This city borders Delaware, NJ, and just a short drive is Maryland yet unemployment is rampant and everyday I hear about how no jobs are available. The interesting part is that I relocated here for work and have never once had issues getting or keeping a job, and the salary is higher than what I have found in NYC and L.A. My current position is medical sales related and never once have I struggled to find a job making more than $60K with an associates, yet daily I still here about the lack of jobs. To even go further into the motion I have actually gone on interviews where I was complimented on how well I can speak, and how my customer service skills are amazing...one employer actually hired me strictly on the basis that I wasn't a local and told me he doesn't like to hire locals because they are lazy! Completely shocked when he said that. The sports fans in Philly by far are the worst and a constant reminder of what is wrong with people here. If you wear another teams colors anywhere in the city (at a game or not) you will get beat up and/or put in the hospital. The drivers here are non aggressive and horrible and if you get 2 inches of snow the city shuts down, and the stores have no food like the apocalypse is coming. Flash mobs (a bunch of punks that have nothing to do) frequent the city by gathering in groups of 100+ and trashing cars, buildings, and terrorizing the city while the cops attempt to stop them. It's no wonder people get shot so frequently here...if you can't stop a bunch of 17 year olds you sure as hell can't stop a real gang banger. Everyone here seems to be completely uncultured. Daily I speak to people who are born and raised here and have no idea how to get to NYC or have any clue where it is despite the fact it is 90 miles away. If you were raised here you stay within your small community, hang out with your friends from elementary and high school, and don't branch out and meet anyone. Nobody in Philly has social skills other than trash talking (which they have down perfectly) and the only destination in life is the Jersey shore, and Florida. Sweat pants are a big fashion here...if you don't look a hot mess when you go out you aren't doing it right in Philly. This city doesn't have young professionals with their shit together...they all have issues. If you have a good job, nice place, and a vehicle you are automatically shunned from the community as being "better than everyone". When you do go out be sure to feed into the negative, opressive, and anti social vibe the city is plagued with. Drugs...I lived in Detroit people!! Inner city Detroit and yet everyone in Philly does drugs and seems to have serious psychological problems. After working in an office I soon discovered everyone here is on anti depressants. In short I am interested to see who has moved here, or currently lives here and has experienced these same issues. Despite all the complaints my biggest issue here is the total and complete lack of respect for themselves or eachother. Just this morning I was driving down Chestnut St. and saw a guy throw a bag or garbage...and not a small bag...a good 13 gallon bag of garbage out the window onto the sidewalk. Seriously, what the hell is wrong with people here? Rude, ignorant, trash breeding in this small town of Philly. Feel free to comment as I'm sure the hate mail from the locals will come in...and yes it will make me smile. Oh, and as far as "if you don't like it get out" already ahead of you douche bags...I recieved a job in NYC so I'm going to throw on my Yankees jersey and give this place the middle finger.
    • Why does Philadelphia suck so bad? Because, unlike Washington, there is no social obligation to be good at sucking!
  • Which bag do you prefer? I want a nice bag that is fairly large. I have saved up a lot of money and the price doesn't really matter. I am a guy by the way. Which of these two bags do you prefer? Why? Pros and cons of each of them? Why not the other one? Louis Vuitton: http://www.louisvuitton.co.uk/front/#/eng_GB/Collections/Men/Travel/products/Keepall-45-with-Shoulder-Strap-MONOGRAM-MACASSAR-M56711 OR GUCCI: http://www.gucci.com/uk/styles/216484FCIEG9643# ? Many thanks! SANTANA'S HONESTY - I am not gay or transgender you horrible person. Everyone is allowed to have their own opinnion. Learn the difference between FACTS AND OPINNIONS. You stated your opinnion, even thought I never asked for it. I ask: Which Bag do you prefer. You also said about the price, this question has nothing to do with money!! "sin against nature for a straight guy to own a bag like that let alone pay that much for a bag" - It is not a sin at all, so get your facts right you horrible woman. SANTANA'S HONESTY - Okay, but I am not going to wear some backpack that looks like shit. Aren't guys allowed to spend money on nice things? Sexist much?
    • Okay, someone on here said choose one because it looks manlier? Okay, I would not care about that. You could own a neon pink bag, no one should care, as long as YOU like it, buy it. And @Santana, do not be so close minded and make such quick assumptions/judgements. Okay! Anyway....Hey ( : How's it going? I, personally, would choose the Louis Vuittton! I LOVE it! I was a little disapointed in the Gucci one( I love Gucci) but I gasped when I saw the LV....Very nice. That is JUST my opinion, though. ( : I envy you and you do not even own the bag, yet LOL
  • what's the difference between designer and highstreet? like i know designer things are much more expensive, better quality, nicer, etc.. but what makes something designer? because topshop and river island are all high street shops then things like chanel and armani are designer, but then in republic, the brands it sells such as soul cal and miso are said to be designer, what makes soul cal designer but topshop highstreet? they're both the same price, and sold on the high street?
    • Basiclly, all high street shops buy their items from retail markets. Allthough they may have a certain style and different shops look for different materials there's always a chance that high street shops will have the same clothes, designer means they are designed and made by the company themself, so there is no chance they will be found in any other shop, they will have the company name stiched into it and usually much better quality.xx
  • Where to get set of colored gel pens? I'd like a set of about 25 gel pens. I want a store, not a website. If you see the stores website with a nice pack of gel pens, please add the link and price, thanks!
    • Try Walmart or office depot or an office supply store. Maybe an art store for sure.

La Bodeguita; great restaurant & bar, great Afro-Latino disco, well established in Nice and popular with locals who come for the dance buzz. Well worth a visit!
