Q&A
  • Eco-Tourism for sustainable travel for the future? Probably will be an up and coming venture once energy prices get too high. Would you consider a tour of local communities, permaculture, and community sustainability. Getting people together never fails to produce good results.
    • yes but I live eco-friendly- in Honolulu- where tourists want this. my lifestyle is criminalized--- bulldozers will take out take me out- talking to tourists is criminalized. just drive. watching Hawaii die is no better than going back to a dead Ohio-"my city was gone..."

Should I repair my car or get a newer one? I need opinions... I currently have a 2001 Hyundai Accent GS, 112K miles. For those unfamiliar, this is on the cheaper side of cheap cars, not too comfortable. In November an uninsured driver hit and run me, cracked my rear bumper and broken tail light, haven't fixed it. January, had a brake job and exhaust problem fixed, $500. March, fixed 2 ball joints and 2 new tires, ~$400. This morning the windshield wipers decided to stop working, looking at around a $200 fix. The car gets good gas mileage, close to 40 hwy, average 30mpg/tank, give or take a few. So I feel like if I 'upgrade', I should at least get something close to that. Been looking at like a Mazda 3 i Touring or Ford Focus-type, 2012 or newer. Both of those seem to have good reviews. Money matters, I make about $30K before taxes, so ideally I was wanting to wait another year or so until the prices of those used cars drop, and I feel like I'm smart with my money. If I keep the Accent, I will be needing to fix the wipers, change the belts, fix the tail light, maybe patch the bumper. So we're talking about $1K, more with the bumper. Which would be fine, I would bite the bullet, but then that's assuming nothing else would go wrong. Not to mention that is a bit much for this car when I would get $1-1.5K for trading it in. I could say since I've already put $900 into it this year I might as well get it fixed up, but where does it end? Engine and transmission seem to run just fine at this point, so it's not like this car is having any serious trouble yet. Maybe someone who's been in a similar scenario can give me some advice. Oh please. If it was just the wiper motor I would fix it myself. A wiper motor, by the way, would cost about $70. Still doesn't change the main point of my question.
    • sometimes it pays to fix what you have and keep it ! if you get another car you don,t know what,s going to happen to it either ! do the math ! figure out what all your car needs and then figure out what another car will cost you ! instead of buying new parts why don,t you go to the junk yard and get used stuff ?
  • How much money do you need to take to Rome for sightseeing? Two adults going for 8 days self catering.
    • It depends on what you need to spend money for. Does this only include entrance fees & transportation or money for meals, accommodations, etc. I usually count on around 50 - 80 euro a day for meals and entrance fees, but I generally eat well when I'm out exploring. If you're on a tight budget, you can get a pizza for 8 to 13 euro and panini, wraps of pizza by the slice for less. A McDonald's McMenu meal is around 7 -8 euro depending on what you get. I don't recommend that, but it's a useful point of reference. Places like the Pantheon, the Mouth of Truth, Trevi Fountain, the Spanish Steps and some other attractions are free. You can buy a combination ticket good for the Colosseum, Forum and Palatine Hill for 15,50 euro for a full fare ticket (cheaper if you're an EU citizen). If you buy the ticket at the Palatine Hill ticket office, the line is a lot shorter. http://www.rome.info/colosseum/ The price for a Vatican Museum ticket is 16 euro full fare. http://mv.vatican.va/3_EN/pages/z-Info/MV_Info_Orari.html . You can look up the museum websites to find prices for places like the Capitoline Museum http://www.museicapitolini.org/ You might find a Roma Pass worthwhile depending on where you want to visit: http://www.romapass.it/?l=en . I usually walk between the attractions except for places like the graves of Keats & Shelly (metro to the Piramide stop) or the Appian Way/Catacombs (bus). You might find the hop on, hop off buses a good way to get around in the tourist area: http://www.rometoolkit.com/whattodo/rome_hop_on_tour_bus.htm
  • What song should I sent to the radio for a Gaga contest? So, a local radio station in my city is organizing a mini-contest, nothing big. The idea is to send a short part of a Lady Gaga song, the prist prize consists on a poster + the two studio albums + the two concert dvds. The second price is only the poster + the last album + the moster ball tour dvd. The third price is just the poster and one CD. So I really want to get the Monster ball tour dvd! Because it's the original American version, not the adapted one available in my country. To get it, I need to end first or second overall. I have already recorded two Gaga songs, which one do you think I should send?? Please anwer I'd really appreciatte it! =) song 1 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ErXqzW9_M… song 2 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QM1DxYbeA… please, no spam!

  • Can anyone recommend the best place to book tours in Palawan? Trying to find the best place to use to book tours in Puerto Princesa City. We are looking to do the honda bay island hopping tour, underground river and firefly watching. We are staying at the Legend Hotel Palawan, but it looks like their tour prices are a bit high. Know anywhere to book them at a better price? Thanks in advance for your response. Im not looking to book online. Im looking to book when we arrive in Puerto Princesa.
    • when you arrive at the airport there will be plenty of people offering tours in the lobby. take your pick from there
  • why is tour guide from the underworld valued at high price it doesn't seem like a good card? i was reading about a someone needing a tour guide from the underworld and saying it was expensive why is it so valued at around 175.00 if it's not that good
    • Pretty much every tournament-ready deck runs the Tour Guide Xyz Engine, which allows you to summon a Level 3 Xyz monster quickly with no lost card advantage by using its effect to summon either Sangan or another Tour Guide. This monster is usually one of the following: Leviair the Sea Dragon, a monster which lets you summon any banished level 4 or lower monster from play, Leviathan Dragon, a 2500 atk beatstick with the potential for 3000 if you don't need to attack directly, or Wind-Up Zenmaines, a 2100 def shield that can stop its destruction by detaching a Xyz material, and then lets you destroy a card at the end of the turn if you use this effect.
  • Which Car is the Better Deal? I'm 15 and I'm going to get my license in March, when I turn 16. My parents and I are looking for a car so that I can practice with it for my drivers test. I'm really open to anything, but the payments need to be around $200 a month, and I can put $1000-1500 down on it. I was looking at Mazda 3s but I'm really not sure. Are they reliable cars? I found four Mazda 3s that are reasonably priced, but I'm not sure which one would be better: * 2010 Mazda 3i Touring with 40k miles for $14000 * 2008 Mazda 3i with 60k miles for $12000 * 2008 Mazda 3i Sport w/ 32k miles for $12000 (also a 2009 of the same thing, 54k miles for $12400) I'm really confused as to which I should get. All of these prices are what I found on the internet, so we could probably talk them down to $1000 less or so, EXCEPT for the 1st one. We went in and talked to the dealers about that one. The 14k one would probably make my monthly payments too high, but it's realllly clean inside and looks like it's been taken care of well. Does anyone who has an ounce of knowledge about cars know which one I would be better off with? Assuming that they have all been taken care of the same.
    • It appears to me that the 2009 model is the better buy dollar wise. Then the 2008 Mazda 3i Sport. The Mazda 3i with 60000 miles on it may be a bad risk as it may be due for a timing belt. This timing belt issue is also coming due for the 2009, so you need to look into how much that job will cost if this car uses a timing belt. That is why the 2008 Sport might be the one to select. It has the furthest to go before a major service event happens (60000 miles). So look at your budget, check the service records (at least on the 60K mile car). If the 60K work has been done (if they claim it was done ask for a warranty on that part at least) it would be the deal breaker. Depending on how much you drive, you will need to budget in a 60K mileage service on some of these real soon. Check around and see what that service is going for to kind of balance out the numbers.
  • how many college students are willing to do 1 military tour to have there college loans forgiven? 15 months of active duty and you never have to worry about college tuition. small price to pay to help the president out on his promises.

  • How much does a justin bieber tour ticket cost?? Please tell, i am a BIG BIG fan :)? I want to go in a justin bieber concert, but i really dont know what are the prices of the tickets are they too high or nominal ?, please help me , I am Indian, If you ever went to a justin bieber concert ,please tell me how is it like? :) Thank you :)
    • Well Justin Bieber tour dates have not been released yet so I'm not exactly sure about the price. I don't think that Justin Bieber concert tickets wont be too much that no one will be able to afford it. Even though it depends on how much it would cost depending on where you live, how big the arena is and where you wanna sit but if you look on www.ticketmaster.com it says Justin Bieber is going to be performing in Los Angeles, California on December 17, 2011 at The Nokia Theater if you look at the tickets and see how much they cost that is how much it would cost or it would be similar to how much it would cost where you live or maybe if you call the arena where he last performed they will be able to guess and know how much it would cost even if the 2012 'Believe Tour' dates aren't up yet. I'm just guessing but don't think the VIP package wont anymore than $900 and a Justin Bieber concert ticket no more than $400-$700 for 1-15 rows and $300-$600 for 1-29 rows. I'm praying it doesn't cost that much cause I plan on seeing him live next year but I don't wanna pay thousands lol. Maybe I will if I'm desperate to see him lol. Hes a wonderful performer. I did see Justin Bieber live which was on November 11, 2010 when he came to my town on his 'My World Tour' in Cleveland, Ohio. I was 8 rows up on the left side of the stage but I had a wonderful view and he kept walking towards where I was which was great. Justin Bieber's concert was the first concert that I have ever been too and I thought I wanted to see him live because I really like him as an artist and a person ever since he got discovered off of YouTube. I got there at 6:00 PM with my best friend when the concert starts at 7:00 PM we just wanted to arrive early. When we got there it had no one inside besides a few people but it did start getting crowded at 6:30 PM. When the concert started the screaming got louder and louder, it wasn't loud to the point where it hurt my ears though neither was the music. I did not know this but there are supposedly opening acts before the certain artist you wanna see comes out. The concert started and this girl named Jasmine Villegas came out if you don't her shes the girl in the music video 'Baby' with Justin Bieber, Burnham then came out and then Sean Kingston came out and when he sang 'Eenie Meenie' everyone was screaming thinking Justin Bieber was gonna come out but he didn't. These artists sang 3 of their songs. When Sean Kingston goes back in the lights turn on and there is a 8 minute count down for Justin Bieber to come out. Justin Bieber sang Love Me Bigger Runaway Love U Smile One Less Lonely Girl Stuck In The Moment played with a little videos of Justin Bieber when he was younger. He didn't sing this song, he went backstage and changed Favorite Girl Never Let You Go Up Somebody To Love Down To Earth That Should Be Me Baby In parts of the concert Justin Bieber talked to the fans and made them feel like he saw everyone in the audience by turning on the lights and saying hello to everyone. In his song 'One Less Lonely Girl' he brings a fan on stage, sings to her, gives her a dozen of roses and strokes her face and in Justin Bieber's songs 'Never Let You Go' and Favorite Girl he goes in this huge heart while playing the guitar a few feet above from the fans below. He teases every girl at his concerts, he goes "who wants to be my baby?" during his song 'Baby' and he says hes going to choose a girl while he goes in the heart when he sings his songs 'Never Let You Go' and 'Favorite Girl' but he doesn't lol. Justin Bieber's 'Believe Tour' is going to be much different than his 'My World Tour' he said his 'Believe Tour' is going to be like no one has ever seen before. Even if you are far away from the stage be lucky your in the same room with Justin Bieber. If you go to a Justin Bieber concert I hope you have a great time :)
  • France..............? im planning to travel to france with a group of students..the cost is 2000...this includes hotel,food,ticket,tours..is this a good price???????please help
    • In Paris it could be somehow a limited sum if you plan a visit longer than one week. In provincial regions and small or medium tier towns it should be fine for a two weeks visit, if carefully managed and a good insurance in case of an accident. In the countryside it should be fine also. But please skip the tourist season in Côte d'Azur or Alpes de Haute Provence, they are fairly expensive. You did not mention buying gifts nor clothes.
