Q&A
  • ps4 vs xbox 360 vs wii u? which one do you prefer and why? please give a detailed answer.
    • In the video game industry, there have always been debates among gamers over which company delivered the best hardware on the market. Years ago, that debate raged on between Sega and Nintendo fans. After Sega was knocked out of the market, the attention shifted to Nintendo and Sony. Nowadays, we have our work cut out for us. We need to decide which console — the Nintendo Wii, Sony PlayStation 3, or Microsoft Xbox 360 — is the best of this generation. There are some who have supported Nintendo over the years that can point to several reasons their favored company should take that prize. They say that the Wii delivered a new style of gaming and changed the industry forever. Moreover, the device has easily beaten all other consoles in overall sales. Others might point to Sony’s PlayStation 3 as the best console of this generation. They say that the PlayStation 3 combines the best of entertainment with gaming to create a fantastic living room experience. And they might have a point. The device has outstanding graphical capabilities for games, and it boasts a Blu-ray drive. Not bad for $300. But unlike those folks, I just can’t vote for the Wii or PlayStation 3. Those consoles undoubtedly offer benefits to some customers, but they pale in comparison to the Xbox 360. As far as I’m concerned, the Xbox 360 trumps the Wii when it comes to games. Although Nintendo’s first-party titles have caught on with millions around the globe, the platform’s entire library isn’t all that impressive. And as developers have indicated in the past, they can deliver more advanced experiences to Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 gamers. Plus, I don’t think overall console sales should be our guide. Over the last several months, the Xbox 360 has been easily outselling the Wii in the U.S. And Nintendo’s recent decision to drop the price of its console to $150 was a response to the sluggish demand it has been witnessing over the last several months. So, while the Wii might reign supreme in total sales, it might not have the longevity that its peers have. On the PlayStation 3 front, the Xbox 360 might have a harder time winning out. After all, the Xbox 360 lacks the Blu-ray drive and its game library is similar. But consider the Microsoft Kinect, which easily bests the PlayStation Move in terms of usability and multiplayer fun, and the Xbox 360 starts to inch its way towards the top. The trump card, however, is online gaming. Over the last several weeks, Xbox Live has been in operation, allowing gamers to play online. The PlayStation Network has been offline due to last month’s security breach that saw personal information stolen. Say what you will about that event, but I believe it was the clincher. As nice as the PlayStation 3 is, the console’s users have lost some trust in Sony. And whether or not the company can rebuild that is anyone’s guess. So, I’m giving this generation’s console crown to the Xbox 360. It might not win in every category, but as a whole, it’s better than its competitors.
  • Best foundation for teenage skin? What foundation is good for teenage skin? I always find mine goes orange. Budget it £30. I am 14 xx
    • it depends on your skin tone, I went to a benefit counter in my local shopping centre and they matched the foundation with my skin tone and where im quite pale I had the lightest foundation. if your looking to cover spots or acne then you should use concealer before putting any foundation on, but make sure you just put it over the spots or acne, (that's what the lady at the benefit counter done) and it made it look like I had nice clear skin. so if you match a foundation with your skin tone and use concealer to cover spots/acne it would look as if you have nice skin. but don't keep going over and over with foundation other wise you will look orange, however im not sure on the prices sorry. hope this helps x
  • Please help me with my makeup!? I need tips on what makeup I should wear. I never really wore make-up but I'm 14 now and my friends are obsessed with it, I don't really know anything about makeup. I want to be more girly, and I feel ugly without makeup. I have medium length light brown hair with a side fringe. I have medium brown eyes and pale skin. According to some websites I have a normal to combo skin type and my t-zone is prone to spots. I don't feel comfortable wearing a lot of really visible makeup as I'm the sort of person that doesn't want to stand out (because of different reasons, mainly a previous bullying case). I want something that will conceal my spots and just bring out a natural looking beauty. It also needs to be fairly cheap but good quality. (I live in England so only suggest products that I can get in England) Thank-you and sorry for the fussiness! Good application brushes would be helpful too! (and what they are used for)
    • Your 14 don't wear foundation! If your really self conscious about your skin, wearing a bb cream or tinted moisturiser, which maybellline has good bb creams, that are light weight, good for your skin and provide coverage. Like you said you want something that can conceal spots, I recommend garnier concealer which is a pretty decent price. After putting on concealer and bb cream you need to wear a pressed powder, which is practically to make sure you don't get oily which is totally unattrative. You may also wear blush, as well as mascara or eyeshadow. For blush make sure you don't put to much on or you will look like a clown! For mascara put like 5 or so swipes on, if you put to much on you will have spider leg eyelashes. As for eyeshadow, keep it natural colours, don't go for bright blues or so, you will look like your getting ready for Halloween. Hope this helped! ?
  • What should I wear to an interview? I have an interview for a Childcare Apprenticeship on the 15th, this is the first interview i've had, and I don't have any suitable clothes. Will black trousers, a blouse and black shoes be suitable (if so will i need a short sleeve, three quarter length or full length blouse), or will I need a suit, skin coloured tights and low heels? I'm going to have to borrow money from my dad to buy the clothes, so if I don't need to buy a suit, I wont since they are quite expensive (i don't like relying on him for money but I don't have a choice at the moment so I don't want to go overboard spending), but if that's the only option I will have to, and also I don't know whether a suit will be overdoing it since i'm only 18 and most the applicants will be my age or younger? And, if I need a suit, does anyone know of anywhere in England that sells them at a reasonable price (i've been looking around but not having much luck). Also, will pale nail varnish be okay in an interview (pale pink or neutral colours like cream?), and i'm thinking of straightening my hair, tying it up in a ponytail and clipping my fringe to the side, and wearing very little makeup (only neutral colours), does that sound suitable? Thank you for any help you can give me.
    • I would consider all of that excellent interview attire. Here in the States, we call that "Business Casual." Wear a pair of comfortable, dressy shoes. You do not want your feet to be fidgeting about. Don't wear all black - add a touch of color in somewhere. My rule of thumb is never dress better than the boss at an interview - go for conservative and tasteful. An interview is all about discussing your fitness for the job, not about what you're wearing - but part of what businesses like to see is that you care about your appearance. I would only dress up in a suit if I were going to apply at a corporate office or at a fashion house / designer's firm. Best of luck in the interview!
  • Tips for whiter skin? Hi! I'm half chinese and half caucasian and I was born with skin that was quite pale. Over the years (because I live in Florida, you know, the SUNSHINE state) my skin has has gone from ivory white to a golden yellow... Ish 0.0. The reason why I want whiter skin is because whenever I go to China to visit my family, they tell me how dark my skin is, ask me if I have been working in fields, and how unattractive it is, yadda yadda. That kind of marked my mission to get paler skin/brighter skin. I use sunscreen, wash my face morning and night to wash away the dead skin cells, all of that... But it doesn't seem to make my skin paler. No, i am not going to fill my bathtub full of oatmeal and gallons of milk and soak in it-- that's a waste of food in my opinion... And sort of nasty. Nor will I buy hundreds of dollars worth of skincare products, I am not filthy rich. Are there any products that work and are a good price? Any miraculous stories on how you achieve brighter/paler skin? TIPS? Anything that will help me on my "mission" will do :3
    • milk, stay inside :)

  • Kay
questions about hair extensions? Lately I've been considering hair extensions. I know hardly anything about them except they add length to your hair. I am very pale, with THICK shoulder-length hair. My hair is naturally dark brown, but I've had it dyed dark red for a few years now. I was wondering: What's the best (reasonably priced, please) brand? I have dyed red hair, can I dye the extensions? What application method should I get (clip-in, heat Fusion, etc.)? Can I straighten/curl them occasionally? How long do they typically last? Anything else I should know? By reasonably priced I mean no more than $250 Oh, as much as I LOATHE her, I'm kinda going for the Miley Cyrus length/thickness. I want a few inches shorter, and I already have super thick hair so...yea Thanks! =)
    • 1.) I don't think extensions will be best for you because they don't blend well with thick hair. And when people with short hair try to wear extensions it looks fake 2) brand- headkandy.com. super cheap and great quality 3) yes you can dye them,.but it will damage them. 4) you need to use heat on them everyday so they blend flawlessly with your real hair 5) I think sew is the best. But clip in works too. 6) I replaced my extensions every 2-3 months so they never look driedout/yucky. 7.)I with your current length you should NOT go for mileys length. Yes its gorgeous (my hairs her length) but it won't blend right with your natural hair... and will look fake. You should get some no longer then 15 inches So I suggest you don't get extensions
  • How to achieve natural looking makeup? hello, I was just wondering if anyone out there with very fair skin can achieve very natural looking makeup? I have naturally red hair and pale skin. I love the makeup and complexion of take Janet Devlin from the Factor for example. I have purchased Maybelline dream satin liquid foundation/concealer which is brilliant!! I always buy it in light Porcelain, it's the right price bracket and one of the lightest colours available to me. I don't want to compromise the type of foundation, because this one is great. However, i would love to know how to apply well and if i can lighten it by any means? I just want a very pale, irish looking flawless look! thanks! x
    • Put 2 peas size drops onto your hands & rube well Now with a matching foundation powder and brush, brush the powder lightly all over your face (this will give your face an even tone but not a slapper or caked look) black top liner (medium to thin line with flicks) eyeliner and a good mascara lightly put bronzer underneath your cheekbones (watch videos on youtube, if ur not sure on how to apply) and finish with a mixture of pink and red blusher but LIGHTLY on your cheeks do everything lightly (excepts mascara, eyeliner and topliner), you might think this is a lot of make up but if you do it lightly its not, trust me
  • What's a good bronzer for very fair skin? I have very pale skin and it's pretty sensitive. I'm looking for something that looks great but isn't outrageously priced :) thanks for any help!
    • Nars laguna bronzer is really nice and gives you a pretty glow. Too faced chocolate soleil bronzer smells yummy and is a matte bronzer, great for contouring.
