Q&A
  • Is Bioshock Infinite truly worth paying 60 dollars for? I've heard good things about this game, but I have also heard it is short (only 11 hours of main story time). I tend to feel like I have wasted money when I beat games fast (which I can do sometimes depending on the game) so I am wondering is it worth paying 60 dollars for? Or should I perhaps wait until the game drops in price? There is a deal going on through Amazon and they are offering Dishonored for 30 bucks so... Depending on what you guys say will guide me towards either spending 30 bucks for Dishonored or instead Bioshock. Jared - Thank you for your response.
    • Lina, so you think that even if a game takes more than an average amount of time to create, its price should correspond to the time it takes for a player to complete the game? If that were the case, Bethesda's bugged games would likely cost $100+. So, this logic seems flawed. I don't have mass amounts of money or anything, but when an exceptional game like Bioshock hits the market, I am willing to pay full price. This is going to support the developers that actually give a damn about the product they are creating, as opposed to the guys pushing out the cookie cutter games like Call of Duty and (insert sport)2k(insert year). I realize that it is just my opinion, but I feel like Bioshock, Bioshock: Infinite, Far Cry 3, Arkham Asylum, and Dark Souls/Demons' Souls are certainly a few of the games that actually merit the $60 price tag.
  • razor1911 Skyrim torrent Problem? I got the razor1911 torrent for my pc, i installed every thing correctly but when i go to my skyrim launcher instaed of saying,Play/Settings/Datafiles ect. it just says install and when i press install it just blinks and nothing happens, also does it have to be installed in program files x86?
    • The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is not worth pirating. Bethesda SoftWorks (developers behind Skyrim) put so many hours writing storylines, creating artwork, testing the game, animating characters, etc. Better buy your own copy and support them. You can buy Skyrim from Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Elder-Scrolls-V-Skyrim-Pc/dp/B004HYIAPM/ref=sr_1_1_title_0?s=videogames&tag=basebal-20&ie=UTF8&qid=1363540009&sr=1-1 or Steam: http://store.steampowered.com/app/72850/ It's price was recently reduced to $39.99 across all platforms It's one of the best games ever made. You'll love playing it. There are TONS of quests, areas to explore, lots of people (and enemies), items to collect and of course lots of dragons! As you progress in the game, you can steal stuff, break locks, learn magic, buy your own house and even marry someone. Just buy the game and support the developers. It will help them in developing future Elder Scrolls games like the upcoming Elder Scrolls Online MMO
  • Which Fallout game is better, New Vegas or 3? I recently became interested in the series and I realized they are at a reasonable price except, I only want to buy one for right now. If you don't mind, can you please answer these questions. Thanks. -What are some differences between the two? -Which one is older? -How long are they? -Are they worth the money? -Which game has a better story and better gameplay?
    • You should DEFINATELY buy Fallout 3 first. Fallout New Vegas is kind of like an extension off Fallout 3. Fallout 3 is older. (It still uses the same game mechanics as New Vegas though). You could play Fallout 3 for up to 90 Hrs +, the game is so large and even I haven't discovered everything in it. They're definitely worth the money! Personally, Fallout 3 has a better story, and you wouldn't really get the story of New Vegas unless you played Fallout 3. So I think you should definitely get Fallout 3. Every game made by Bethesda is a masterpiece. Love Skyrim, love Fallout!
  • GOTY Edition codes only? I'm having a little problem here, with mainly Bethesda's games. I finally could be bothered to complete Fallout 3, and I felt ripped off, but I don't want to buy all the over-priced DLC. I'd rather just get the GOTY which turns out cheaper, and I wouldnt know where to sell my original copy of F3. Same with New Vegas, I will have to get the DLC sooner or later even though I havent completed it yet but I will still want it. And last of all, Oblivion. I downloaded this one to my Xbox from Games on Demand. Like I'm gonna pay 2400 MSP for The Shivering Isles when I can get a brand new copy of the game with all DLC for cheaper! Maybe I should buy it, and sell it somehow without the codes? Also, where could I sell? I hope it doesnt cost much to sell on eBay. If you know how much it costs to sell please say also.
    • I'm not sure what your question is. The GoTYs of Fallout and Oblivion come with a second disk that has the DLC on it. The one for Oblivion only has the 2 expansion packs not all DLC. You'd be better off renting them, installing the second disk to your 360, and then playing from your regular copies. You can do this. You wouldn't earn much by selling them.
  • Fallout 3 Not Responding? Okay, so the other day my boyfriend bought me Fallout 3 because it was on sale for a good price and I really liked New Vegas. I installed it and it starts up perfectly, but as soon as I click "New" for a new game it starts to load it, then crashes and it won't respond. I've read every forum under the sun to try and fix this stupid game, and can't figure out how to. I downloaded the newest patch on bethesda, tried uninstalling and reinstalling it, tried changing the settings, tried messing around in the Fallout.INI document, tried downloading mods, tried changing the compatibility to vista, and nothing is working. So far what I've read is that the game doesn't work well for Windows 7 (which I have) and especially newer computers with quad core processors but it will work for older ones with Vista and XP. I have a laptop and it's a Lenovo, don't know all the specs or whatever, but I am getting extremely frustrated because it works perfectly fine on my boyfriend's desktop which also has Windows 7. I just don't get it. Does anyone know of a REAL way to fix this before I go ballistic?
    • go to your Fallout3.ini change busethreadedAI=0into busethreadedAI=1.. add INumHWThreads=2 after that line......change to 1 if still crash..... use compatibility mode Window XP Service Pack 2.......no Vista....... enjoy......(or not)....
  • Price for dinner for 2 at Morton's The Steakhouse? (Bethesda MD location)? I am going to Morton's The Steakhouse in Bethesda for my birthday in June and was trying to decide how much to put aside for the meal. We would probably get either an app or salad, a steak each, a side each, dessert (maybe one to share or possibly 2), and a soda each. Also possibly an alcoholic drink. Can anyone who has been there recently tell me a ballpark of how much to set aside for this meal. Or if anyone has a recent menu with prices they could email me a copy of or give me a link too I would be so appreciative. Thanks
    • Morton's is very expensive. You can go to their website and see the menu, but I guarantee you will spend more than $120 -140 for 2. They are having a special right now for salad, steak, side and dessert for $60; does not include drinks, tax and tip.
  • how much does a navel piercing cost at Bethesda Tattoo? i'm debating between getting it done there or one other place, and knowing the price would make a huge difference kebert xela or whatever the hell your name is, you don't need to be a dick about it. I had noticed a lot of other people asking about tattoos and piercings in the bethesda area, so if you live somewhere else you didn't need to answer....
    • http://search.yahoo.com/search;_ylt=AnybyTGtBPm41zSZBEBEgdmbvZx4?p=bethesda+tattoo&toggle=1&cop=mss&ei=UTF-8&fr=yfp-t-500 If you have questions about specific shops, call that shop. Shockingly, strangers from across the world can't tell you how much something costs there.
  • How do you build a good gaming computer for an affordable price? So im a casual gamer and have always been a console gamer since i was first introduced to spyro on the ps1, but lately ive been getting into the modding universe. Im not gonna bore you with my life story but long story short ive really been into the bethesda rpgs since i was first introduced to oblivion. These rpgs are amazing however, they do begin to turn vanilla. So i want to know, what are the beginnings to building a good gaming computer, primarily for The Elder Scrolls and fallout (like i said, casual gamer) that could support good graphics and mods. Im very inexpirienced with computers(my friend would be helping me with the software) and im just lookin for a fun little setup that i can play my games with the mods i want, oh and for a good cost. So yeah, send me a link or explain it yourself idc really i just want to get some opinions and feedback on what i should do first to make a good gaming computer that wont break the bank. As of now im looking for something that can play skyrim on a moderate setting. Thanks
    • What price are we talking about here? If you want cheap, go for an asus p5g41t-m lx and an Intel Core 2 Duo E8200, for the graphics card, get a 560 ti, and get a 500 gb hard drive, for the disc burner, find a good one on amazon, for the power supply, get a 500 watt or more. And for the case, well thats up to you :) ( i like coolermaster cases)
  • If Bethesda released a TES4 editing kit for the consoles- would you buy it? I'd love to have some modding fun with my 360 GotY version- 60$ sounds like a good price point. ^_^ Could even have an online storefront for submitted mods. I know I could just get the PC version, but I'm to lazy to upgrade my PC.
    • For $60? I'm fine.
  • Em
How much would a taxi be from Bethesda,MD to Arlington, Va for 1-3 people? Don't want to get in a situation tonight where we would have to drive Since its new years and all, so just wondering the price of a taxi just incase
    • Wow. That's a hefty ride. You might want to check and see if the Metro (www.wmata.com) is still going to be running tonight when it comes time for that cab ride. Metro will be WAY cheaper than catching a cab from MD to VA. I know for a fact that most cab companies are going to charge for crossing state lines. It used to cost me 11 bucks just to get from Farragut North to where I used to live over by Gallaudet in Northeast, so I'd estimate that it would probably cost about $40-50 from Bethesda to Arlington.
